Before creating the pigtail or doing any electrical wiring in general it s important to make sure the electricity is off.
Slip the can s box into the hole and then push the can body up into the hole until its flange is tight to the ceiling.
Make the wire connections inside a new metal junction box.
Run electrical cable through the ceiling from the recessed light hole over to the light switch hole.
Determine a plan for laying out your recessed lighting and install the recessed lights into the ceiling.
Step 3 cut lengths of electrical wire take your tape measure and measure the distances between the recessed lighting.

To power your new can lights find an existing receptacle or switch box that contains a hot wire on a suitable circuit.
